In April 2017, we sadly learnt of the passing of our advisor Marianne Treschow. We were so excited that Marianne accepted the role of Advisor to the Map Project at the beginning of the autumn 2016. We are happy that we had the chance to meet a few times, pitch our project, discuss our challenges, and how to develop collaboration for the implementation of Map Project. Her support helped us on the right course early on. Marianne’s energy and enthusiasm has inspired us! She will be greatly missed at the Map Project. Our thoughts are with her family and close friends.
Emma Pantagaki is a university student of psychology. She also has a passion for design, video making and photoshop and has joined Map Project as a volunteer during June and July 2017. Emma is developing map project video material about the many use cases for Map Project addresses.
Carl, of Myrén Films, is a professional filmmaker, who has a special interest in following projects over a long period of time and making so called longitudinal film. Carl has joined the map project team to follow our journey on the quest of making complete, systematic and accurate addresses available to everyone.
Johan Sjölander was part of starting up Map Project in 2016. As a technical lead, he was involved in early research and development, as well as responsible for the development of the first prototype that was tested in Uganda and Rwanda in 2017. With a functioning prototype, we were able to test and confirm our first hypotheses about challenges and solutions. Johan is continuing to supporting Map Project.
Katarina Gillblad offered Map Project an office as she had a spare room just when we were starting out without a space to work together. The team was working there between January and March 2017. Modern tools are a great help in making distant work possible, but it is nothing like being able to work face-to-face, support each other and solve challenges together as they arise.
Konstantina Pantagaki joined Map Project in September 2016 for UX/UI, Marketing and Communication. Appart from developing much of our Marketing and Communications material, Konstantina has been involved in the early research and development. She has been responsible for the development of the user interaction with our addressing application, based on research and feedback in the field. Konstantina is continuing to support Map Project.
